HOLLIS DOHR

MEET HOLLIS

Welcome! Hollis Dohr is a classically-trained actress, singer and dancer based in Los Angeles.

Hollis grew up in Los Angeles as a competitive ballet/contemporary dancer and opera trainee. In high school, she began studying acting and musical theatre in addition to dance and classical voice, setting her sights on becoming a triple threat.

As a sophomore in high school, she won ‘1st Place Shakespearean Monologue’ at DTASC Shakespeare Festival, the largest drama competition for high schoolers in California. That same year she performed "Unusual Way" from Nine at The Los Angeles Theatre Center as a ‘Musical Theater Award Recipient’ of The National YoungArts Foundation.

As a senior in high school, she was awarded Semi-Finalist in ‘Acting’ at The Music Center’s Spotlight Awards for her performance of an Arthur Miller monologue. And she performed a solo from Spring Awakening at The Pantages as a Finalist at The Jerry Herman Awards, the regional round of The Jimmys.

At the end of her senior year, Hollis became a Finalist in CTG’s National August Wilson Monologue Competition and performed an August Wilson monologue in a one-night-only showcase at The Mark Taper Forum.

In 2018, Hollis moved to NYC to pursue a BFA in Acting at Pace University where she trained extensively in classical and contemporary acting techniques including Shakespeare, improv, and on-camera acting. While studying at Pace, she became AEA - EMC for her work at The Powerhouse Theater Festival in the summer of 2019. After graduating last year, she moved back to LA and has since been cast in two professional productions: Olive in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and her upcoming role as Juliet in Romeo & Juliet at the historic Conejo Players Theatre (Fall 2023).
